Trimboli Named UVM Student-Athlete of the Week

Point guard Mike Trimboli was named Vermont Student-Athlete of the Week for December 5-11. The freshman from Norwalk, Conn., has been named America East Conference Rookie of the Week three times.

Trimboli scored 10 of his game-high 18 points in the deciding second half in Saturday's win over New Hampshire. He had eight points in the last 1:40 to seal the victory, including six straight free throws in the last 26 seconds.

Trimboli leads the America East in assists, averaging 6.4 per game, is third in the conference in scoring with a team-best 17.4 point average and is second in free throw shooting at 86.7 percent. It marked the third time this season he led the team in scoring and it was the second time that he recorded eight assists.
